Challenges: No vehicle access

The Mossman Walking Track, located near Cairns in Far North Queensland, required asphalt for its second stage. However, the challenge was there was limited accessibility to this location. There was no vehicle access and Contour Works needed to lay the asphalt by hand.

Fulton Hogan had successfully used EZ Street Ashpalt to lay a path in Lamington National Park two years earlier, which prompted our client, EnProCon, to ask us to assist with the reconstruction and re-laying of another 600 metre long, 1.5m wide section of path.

EZ Street cold mix asphalt was the natural choice for this situation. To help Contour Works, we used a helicopter to airlift 25 bulk bags of EZ Street premium cold mix asphalt to the Mossman Walking Track. From there, Contour Works completed the second stage, which is now available for the public to enjoy.
